A kennel name is required for anyone who registers a litter. It is usually placed as a prefix before the dog’s name. Example: Kennel Name is : Majestic and the dog’s name is Pluto the registered name will be Majestic’s Pluto. Each breeder is only allowed to register one kennel name and it works like a family name where people will be able to identify the breeder of the dog from the name alone. No kennel name is alike that’s why you are required to give three choices. To register your Kennel name, fill up a Kennel Name Application Form and submit it with three unique names. AKCUPI will choose the name according to your preference that is not similar to a currently registered one. Kennel names are only registered once and renewed every five (5) years.
